profile: WATCH THE SEA association was created in Marseille, France, a key sea hub in the Mediterranean. Our objective is to create an innovative Ecotourism that reconnects people to nature by offering a catalogue of guided and equipped sea-excursions and specific training for guides where the participants also collect trash. Our goal is to enhance and preserve marine and terrestrial ecosystems using innovative means and techniques. We are aiming to make a decisive difference in the fight against coastal and underwater pollution, and towards the involvement and education of the public. WATCH THE SEA association was created in January 2019 and has no employes. WATCH THE SEA main products: 1. Paid multi-days eco-tourism activities across the MED for the general public, where the association also can provide necessary outdoor equipment. - 2-3 days guided excursions where the participant provides its own equipment - 2-3 days guided excursions where the association provides the main necessary equipment - 5 days "Gold" guided excursions including the transfer from/to location of arrival and departure, accommodation and meals before and after the excursions. 2. Paid professional education and training for professional guides across the MED, Level 1 and 2 3. monthly events of One-day-Trash collection to sensitize the public 4. Newly designed specialized equipment for thrash collection in the MED and elsewhere. WATCH THE SEA project aims at: Creating a new innovative ECO-TOURISM experience for the MED region; Creating a new PRODUCT engineering innovation to collect trash in oceans; Contributing to SCIENTIFIC activities and research on macro-plastic pollution; Developing an EDUCATIONAL program, both for the general public and for professionals. WATCH THE SEA customers: - general public, specifically close to adventure and recreational activities in the field of Ecotourism and sportive activities related to the sea in between apps. 24 and 70 years old; - Snorkeling and Freediving instructors and water-affined water-related companies who wish to offer an innovative outdoor experience. - Sustainable tourism organisations and platforms; - Innovative environmental organisations; - Science and research organisations. - Market development partner organisations; The project is aimed at the entire MED region, including and not limited to France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Malta and Greece.
Blue growth: Creating a new innovative ECO-TOURISM experience across the MED region; Creating a new PRODUCT engineering innovation to collect trash in oceans; Contributing to SCIENTIFIC activities and research on macro-plastic pollution in MED; Developing an EDUCATIONAL program, both for the general public and for professionals. WATCH THE SEA actively contributes to the Blue economy by providing customers with a deep personal experience of the marine ecosystem through the organisation of outdoor activities involving swimming, snorkeling and hiking along the Mediterranean coastlines. The result is a new innovative, environmentally and socially responsible activity for the MED economy.
