profile: Cap a Mar is a company dedicated to diversify with innovation the inputs and revenues of the fishing sector by the dissemination of its gastronomic, cultural, social and touristic content. This activity is based on three main points: i) Fishing tourism activities; ii) Delivery at home of fresh “Km O” fish product and iii) organization of dissemination activities of the maritime culture in museums, schools, and culture centres. The goal market is the local and European tourist that is looking for alternative and sustainable tourism activities that makes feel engaged with the authentic daily live of the Mediterranean coast. The activities promote the decentralization of the tourism from the main spots offering the possibility to discover new views of the city and its real activity related with the sea. The company was created on 2017 (2 years) by a two fisherman’s families with the goal of diversify the fishing activity to reduce the needs of sea resources exploitation ensuring the continuity of their activity related with the fishing works. Cap a Mar is formed by 17 partners and 1 hired worker, with the perspective to increase the number of associated people. Cap a Mar has been awarded as best entrepreneur start up from “Futurisme” (Barcelona active program for developing touristic startups idea in 2016), best touristic entrepreneur by “Fundació Gaspar Espuña-CETT” in 2017 and best association initiative by COPOLIS 2017.
Blue growth: The activities of Cap a Mar are mainly focused on the use of the fisherman boats and ports to generate new and sustainable cultural activities for the tourist which are interested in new ways to discover and live the real and authentic activity of the mediterranean coast. Moreover Cap a Mar is organizing gastronomic events and delivering Km0 sea product to the costumers to promote the sustainability of the fishing activity 93.29 Other amusement and recreation activities.
